Starting Salary Range: $57,500-$80,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The FASO Application Administrator is a member of the Systems Unit and reports to the Sr. Associate Director. The Application Administrator is responsible for developing policies and procedures within the unit as required to achieve the primary goals of the position, which include:

Document Imaging and Workflow: Primary responsibility and administration of the FASO document management system, including creation and maintenance of document processing and workflow scripts (Java/C), vendor management including contracts and billing, and collaboration with campus ITS resources for security and external file processing.

PeopleSoft (AIS) Systems Automation: Development and implementation of automated solutions for FASO processes utilizing Oracle PL/SQL, PS Query, and PS 3C Engine Processes.

Fund Management: Manage the disbursement of >$250 million of financial aid funds, coordinating with Student Business Services (SBS) to insure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Security and Integrity of Data Systems: Design, implementation and maintenance of a secure Window Server 2008 Active Directory server subnet for confidential financial aid transactions, file transmissions, and document storage.

Strategic Technology Solutions: Assess and advise the FASO leadership team regarding technological solutions supporting the continuous improvement of quality, productivity, and customer service goals.

Training and Support: Provide technical training and backup support to other systems unit personnel with lower level tasks including desktop and server support, external system file transfers, reporting, website maintenance and transactional troubleshooting.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and 7 years of progressively increasing responsibility for development and administration of complex data systems and processes in an institution of higher education.

• Significant experience using high level programming languages associated with information processing and database analysis, including Java, C, PL/SQL, Visual-Basic, etc..

• Comprehensive knowledge of state, federal and institutional financial aid programs, laws and regulations. Thorough knowledge of financial aid application procedures, campus and federal need analysis methodologies, financial aid packaging policies and procedures and familiarity with aid provided by other agencies.

• Comprehensive knowledge of both hardware and software systems associated with a subnet architecture, including operating systems, desktops, firewalls, servers, and associated web tools.

• Significant experience in project management activities, experience organizing and coordinating resources to achieve project goals involving complex processes and critical deadlines ; analyzing information, problems, or procedures to define objectives, identify alternatives or courses of action, make written or verbal proposals and implement procedural changes.
