The Programmer VI ' Software Developer using .NET components acts independently under general supervision to develop, support, and maintain programming code of a complex mission critical n-tiered web-based application and other ancillary applications in support of cancer and other disease registry data reporting, processing, and business intelligence uses. The applications provide services to over 200+ online users in support of state disease reporting regulations, and to also meet federal disease reporting contractual obligations. This position has primary responsibility for the Eureka Rapid Case Ascertianment sub-system and other associated systems such as electronic pathology reporting. In addition , this position is assigned general system and database work activities within the Agile software development methodologies of medium to high levels of complexity, medium to high levels of risk, and that require advanced levels of programming skills, experience, and knowledge. The position must be able to adapt and work within the dynamic team framework of software development methodologies that are based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, and cross-functional teams. The Programmer VI works with security engineers, business analysts, data analysts, system architects, engineers, users, and many other possible team members to determine and document business requirements, prepare technical design forms, build/modify code, and test software to meet the organizational needs. This position works with confidential patient health data that must be securely handled and protected at all times.'Extensive experience in .NET application development programming

• Extensive knowledge in health informatics systems development; Eureka DMS preferred
• Expert level Object-Oriented C# programming skills and knowledge
• Expert level Object-Oriented design and analysis knowledge
• Expert level ASP and ASP.NET programming skills and knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of presentation tier technologies; .NET required
• Advanced skill level of User Interface design, aesthetics and development
• Advanced XML programming skills
• Advanced SQL programming skills
• Advanced level skills with web- based and .Net framework application deployment
• Advanced level Microsoft Component Object Model (COM/DCOM) programming skills and knowledge
• Intermediate level Microsoft Message Queue programming skills and knowledge
• Intermediate level knowledge of systems security technology
• Intermediate level knowledge and experience with Agile Software Development Life
Cycle methodologies and practices
• Some knowledge and experience with California Cancer Reporting Standards Volumes II, III, & IV
• Some knowledge and experience with North American Association of Central Cancer Registry Reporting Standards Volumes II, III, & V
• Some Extensible Style-sheet Language Transformation (XSLT) programming skills and knowledge
• Some experience with and knowledge of Use Case and Functional Specification development
• Some experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server preferred
• Some knowledge of online mission critical system support
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems of one or more sub-systems to resolution in a timely manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented, methodical, meticulous, process-oriented while open to change and motivated by innovation.
• Ability to perform well under the stress and pressure of tight development schedules, and support of an online system.
• Ability to be a well-balanced technologist who is able to business needs and tangible results ahead of technical perfection.
• Reasoning ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position requires hands-on software development and the candidate must be fully skilled in writing specifications, Use Cases, documenting programs, and writing test scripts as required by the software development life cycle process.
• Ability to work in team environment with a moderate level of noise
