General Summary/Purpose:
This position will provide strategic direction and execution of all IT functions and support to operations for CTY which consists of approximately 200 full time, 350 casual Online instructors and 1,700 seasonal temporary staff for CTY's Summer Academic Programs. This position works closely with the AVP for IT at JHU, the Sr. Director Finance and Business Affairs, Sr. Director International Initiatives, Sr. Director M&C, and Sr. Directors of Online and Summer Academic Programs at CTY

CTY requires a strategic technology leader to lead CTY's digital transformation into more robust platforms to serve CTY today and into the future.

Responsibilities:
Contributes or leads strategic and tactical planning to achieve divisional goals by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technologies.
Develops technology solutions to anticipate the division's needs, that are reliable and compatible with existing and emerging technologies.
Anticipate change and be agile to respond when technology requirements emerge and evolve.
Assess impact and effectiveness of technology to ensure it supports CTY's needs and goals.
Manages IT operations, department budget and strategic and operational planning.
Works with Senior Leadership Team at CTY to interpret business needs and makes recommendations for strategic investments in technology, applications, business process and personnel to meet the ends of the agreed upon goals of CTY.
Provides guidance for the development of technology related policies and procedures and represents IT on business driven policy committees within JHU.
Ensures the applicable Hopkins policies, practices and regulatory requirements are addressed and followed within area of responsibility.
Creates and promotes a culture of excellent customer service.
Creates and maintains relationships with strategic technology vendors for the organization and adheres to contractual obligations.
Designs, development, and application of technical solutions that satisfy customer service needs which are essential to the ongoing operations for CTY.
Ensures continuous delivery of information technology support and services.
Develops an effective and efficient organizational structure that supports the ongoing operations of CTY.
Recruits, develops and retains a talent pool to sustain the IT department.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervise six staff members: Software engineers, Lan Administrators, Website Specialists, Programmer Analysts, and Senior DBA

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in a technology field with eight years of progressively responsible IT experience in design, functionality, applications and systems. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits or 18 graduate degree credits = 1 year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college coursework may be applied towards the total minimum education or experience required for the respective job.

Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a technology or business field preferred.

Required Special Skills and Knowledge:
Three years' professional managerial experience required with strong technology functionality knowledge.
Proven project management experience leading large scale, complex projects in system selection and implementation.
Advanced conceptual knowledge of all technologies available to support the operations for CTY's online and academic programs.
IAM, CMS and CRM selection and implementation.
Enterprise architecture, software architecture, and software engineering.
Critical and strategic thinking, oral/written communication, organizational and talent development, relationship building and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility and ability to manage change in ways that result in productive performance. Must be able to work effectively and independently in an environment with multiple priorities.
Track record of building highly successful teams.
Ability to collaborate with peers, colleagues and staff.
Ability to prioritize work and management of complex projects and workloads on time while maintaining high morale.
Exemplary customer service skills.

Physical Requirements for the Job:
Ability to sit in a normal seated position for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands to operate a computer keyboard, mouse pad and other office machinery
The incumbent will be required to communicate regularly via telephone and face to face with internal and external customers and must be able to exchange accurate and timely information in these settings
Position also requires a degree of mobility common to working in an office environment; bending, kneeling or standing during events and presentations may be required.
