Job Description
Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Information Technology, the System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the performance and reliability of Touro University Nevada's server infrastructure. The System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, deployment, integration and administration of server hardware and software and related products. This position is responsible for designing and supporting server systems and supporting software, evaluates changes to current and future server requirements and performs capacity planning to meet the needs of the institution. The System Administrator also develops software and hardware deployment strategies for on premise and cloud-based solutions. This position provides comprehensive support for server issues at Touro University Nevada and collaborates with other System Administrators across Touro College and University System.

Job Duties
1. The System Administrator is responsible for day-to-day administration and management of server systems at Touro University Nevada and serves as the liaison with other Touro College and University System units regarding server and application issues.
1.1. Installs and configures server hardware and software, to include physical and virtual servers, running Windows Server OS, Active Directory, IIS, VMware VSphere, VMware Horizon View.
1.2. Support and manage on premise Exchange email system and multiple Active Directory servers.
1.3. Develop operating procedures for system administration activities including, tracking server activity, performing upgrades of software, maintaining server hardware, backup/recovery, server architecture design and system maintenance.
1.4. Maintain and support current print management system, utilizing Active Directory, and uniFLOW or Papercut print management software packages.
1.5. Participate on the Touro College and University System Active Directory unification initiative.
1.6. Develop and maintain technical documentation.
1.7. Monitor Help Desk work queue for support and account requests.

2. System Administrator duties and responsibilities
2.1. Support and maintain all servers and software in both a local and hosted environments.
2.2. Support and maintain on-site client computers (desktop and mobile)
2.3. Support internal and external DNS servers.
2.4. Support of network-based applications at Touro University Nevada.
2.4. Assume primary role in the testing of new server equipment and deployments.
2.5. Provide technical support and training to other IT staff members as required.
2.6. Provide server hardware capacity recommendations.
2.7. Provide Installation and support for new applications and software releases.
2.8. Serves on Institutional Committees as assigned.
2.9. Manage and Support Active Directory, including Security Groups, File and Print Resources and Group Policy Objects

3. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience as detailed below

Master's degree in related field preferred
Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Active

Extensive experience with Microsoft Exchange environments
